James Kingsford-Smith: Executive Creator & Artist

 

James is a devout practitioner of circus arts, theatre and stagecraft.

Having reinvented himself for the leading, cutting-edge contemporary circuses in the world, he now crafts his own theatrical inventions and teaches master classes in circus and theatre. He has learned a form of physical expression, which is described as “mesmerizing and heart stopping”. He has astounded audiences at international circus competitions, professional arts markets, Olympic Ceremonies and the circus phenomenon, Cirque du Soleil!

He is a graduate of the National Institute of Circus Arts, was one of the original ensemble members for Circa, played the lead character in Cirque du Soleil's Zaia and directed and performed at the 2014 Sochi Paralympic Games with Danielle Finzi Pasca.

Throughout his career he has written and produced five professional productions, always exploring the vulnerable and incredible aspects of human existence!
